The Register of Gas Boiler Installers of Ireland (RGII) has been appointed by the Commission for Energy Regulation as the Gas Boiler Safety Supervisory Body (GSSB).
The RGII is responsible for registering gas installers and regulating their activities with respect to safety in Gas Boiler Installer Domestic (GID), Gas Installer Safety (GIS) and Domestic Gas Appliance Servicing Training Courses. This responsibility dictates that gas boiler installers must hold a Gas Boiler Installer Domestic (GID) Certificate (which can only be obtained following successful completion of Gas Installer Safety (GIS) and Gas Boiler Installer Domestic (GID) training courses) to register with the RGII.
The requirement for increased regulation in this sector is derived from the high volume of gas appliances, gas burners and gas boilers currently installed in Irish homes.
Chevron Training, Ireland’s leading training provider, have devised a suite of gas boiler installation and servicing courses, namely Gas Boiler Installer Domestic (GID), Gas Installer Safety (GIS) and Domestic Gas Appliance Servicing Training Courses. The gas boiler installation training courses satisfy the qualification requirements for RGII registration. In addition, learners will acquire the necessary skills to competently participate within this lucrative market.
Jobseekers who satisfy the criteria for FÁS funding , may be able to attend Chevron Training’s FÁS funded training courses for free, as they will be able to avail of up to 100% funding for the course fee.
