The course structure
The aim of this one day program is to provide future installers of Thermodynamic solar panels with an introduction to the technology and training on how to install the system. The course content is as follows:
- - Introduction to technology
- - Working of the technology
- - Sizing of system
- - Mounting of system
- - Plumbing of system
- - Commissioning of system
The Technology
Thermodynamic solar panels is cutting edge renewable energy technology with the potiential to reform the solar industry in Ireland. Thermodynamic solar panels will capture heat from the sun and unlike traditional solar panels will also capture latent heat from air and rain.
Thermodynamic solar panels work by using a fluid that evaporates at -26 degrees Celsius, allowing to transport the heat absorbed by the collectors to a hot water cylinder.
Even in times of very low solar radiation, Thermodynamic collectors capture the heat from surrounding air, as well as the latent heat of rain, using a coolant at -10º degrees Celsius
A compressor in the block raises the fluid temperature to 110 degrees Celsius, this is transferred to the cylinder using a coil , heating the water up to 50º degrees Celsius. This guarantees hot water all year round if the outside temperature stays above 0º degrees Celsius.
Efficiency of Thermodynamic solar panels
Thermodynamic solar panels are just 3% less efficient when used on east/west orientation when compared to southern orientation. Further details of Thermopanel
