Chevron College offers online QQI Level 5 accredited minor awards in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person. These certifications equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue roles as healthcare assistants specializing in elderly care within the community.

Upon enrolment, you’ll participate in a live induction webinar with a tutor to familiarise yourself with our online platform and learn how to successfully navigate your courses. Subsequently, you’ll gain access to the online platform for a period of 4 months, providing ample time to complete the assessments for the 2 modules and fulfil the required 40 hours of work placement. Assessment methods include assignments, projects, and skills demonstrations, all graded through continuous evaluation.

Throughout the course, tutors are available via email to address any queries and offer feedback on your assessments prior to submission. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to attend live webinars with a studies advisor, covering topics such as academic writing, study techniques, and referencing.

Graduates of this minor award can pursue roles as healthcare assistants in Homecare Services. Furthermore, completion of the two modules can contribute towards achieving a QQI Level 5 major award in Healthcare Support.
