Terms of Engagement for BSc (Hons) Health & Social Care

The Chevron community embraces diversity and requires consideration, acceptance and courtesy in all behaviour. Chevron expects all staff and students to show respect for one another in all aspects of their contact. These terms of engagement apply to all students on the BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care. Any breach of these terms will be taken seriously and where necessary dealt with through the Student Disciplinary Regulations. Sanctions against unacceptable behaviour will be applied consistently in the interests of everyone’s learning, teaching and social experience.

Terms of Engagement for BSc (Hons) Health & Social Care for Face to Face Teaching Environments

Attendance at induction is compulsory on the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care because it provides an important opportunity for tutors to get to know their students. This is an important aspect of this degree programme because this programme explicitly intends to shape attitudes and behaviours of people who intend to pursue careers in Health and Social Care.

It is extremely important that the induction environment provides students with opportunities to listen and question to their fullest potential. Students should therefore not talk amongst themselves whenever anyone is addressing the group as a whole. Students should at all times address their tutors and peers respectfully.

Terms of Engagement for webinars

Students will be provided with their semester webinar schedule at induction days. These are fixed for the semester and if students are unable to attend their scheduled webinars they should watch the recordings which will be uploaded to Learn Upon.

Students will develop a group contract for webinars on the first webinar for each semester. This will be circulated to all students so everyone understands the rules of engagement

It is extremely important that the webinar environment provides students with opportunities to listen and question to their fullest potential. Students should therefore not talk over each other or over their tutor during the webinar session. Students should at all times address their tutors and peers with respect.
