Responsible Persons in Retail Sale and Supply of Animal Remedies

About the course:

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence in the safe handling, storage and sale of veterinary medicinal products in compliance with the requirements of current legislation and guidelines. Whilst there has been no requirement heretofore for continual professional training for RPs, owing to the implementation of new legislation at both EU and national level, and associated changes in the scope of RP activities, completion by all RPs of a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) type training module shall now be required. This training will focus on updates to legislation, dispensing via the National Veterinary Prescription System (NVPS), the proper assessment protocol and dispensing using the Comparables List. Ultimately the purpose of the training will be to ensure RPs maintain up to date knowledge, skills and competence. RPs will be required to have completed a component of the training by 1 September 2025.
