At Chevron College, we offer a range of Building Energy Rating (BER) courses designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to become certified BER Assessors. Our courses cater to both domestic and non-domestic energy rating assessments, ensuring participants are well-prepared to excel in the field. Additionally, we provide specialized training in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Domestic BER Course

Our Domestic BER Course is a QQI Level 6 accredited program that provides in-depth training on conducting energy assessments for residential properties. The course spans six days, with five days of online instruction and one practical day in Dublin. This format allows for flexibility and convenience, enabling learners to balance their studies with other commitments.

The course covers a wide range of topics, including the principles of building energy ratings, the use of assessment tools, and the application of current Occupational Standards for BER Assessors. Participants will engage in practical training through onsite property visits, which are integral to the learning experience. These visits not only provide hands-on practice but also form part of the student assessment process.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a QQI Level 6 BER certificate. This certification is recognized by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), and graduates will need to complete additional steps, such as SEAI’s online induction module and registration process, to become fully certified BER Assessors.

Non-Domestic BER Course

The Non-Domestic BER Course is designed for those interested in assessing the energy performance of commercial and industrial buildings. This course also holds QQI Level 6 accreditation and follows a similar structure to the domestic course, with a combination of online and practical training.

Participants will learn how to conduct comprehensive energy assessments for non-domestic buildings, including the preparation of advisory reports for property owners. The course emphasizes the importance of accurate energy ratings in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability in the commercial sector.

Solar PV Course

Our Solar PV Course is another key offering, aimed at those looking to specialize in the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems.
